Permeable Paver Installation, Ann Arbor University of Michigan
Permeable Paver Installations help to reduce run off into City Storm drains. This may help reduce contaminates from entering valuable ecosystems like the Huron River. Permeable pavers require extra excavation and extra base material. These bike loops were excavated over 22 inches below finished grade. Sub base was compacted and a geotextile fabric was installed on top to prevent base from mixing with sub base while adding flotation to the base material. Over 12 " of MDOT#2 was compacted in 3" layers followed by more than 4" of MDOT 6AA. Bedding course is 1.5" of MDOT 29A. Clean angular joint filler was also used. These materials in combination with concrete pavers will allow water to perk into the ground reducing run off.

Boulder Walls, Regrading, Decorative Rock, and New Sod.
This 800 foot long retaining wall was a challenge to install near a swamp with the very wet Spring and Summer of 2014. We used Michigan Field Stone to create a barrier in between the wetlands and the living space of occupants of this condominium complex. We added over 300 tons of fill dirt and then topped it off with 200 tons of Decorative Rock. New Sod was installed in the areas that had been disturbed by equipment after regrading had taken place.
